radare2 AI notes — authorized assist checklist
r2ai sits on radare2 to offer LLM-assisted reversing. Use these notes only after the r2ai overview and only on binaries you are authorized to analyze. Assist ≠ autopilot for piracy.

Notes checklist (authorized only)
- Install/learn radare2 first; record
r2 -vand r2ai version from your channel. - Keep proprietary or personal binaries off unapproved model endpoints — follow lab data policy.
- Prompt for explanations of code you already opened, not for "remove the license check."
- Verify every AI claim against disassembly you can quote; treat model text as hypothesis.
- Prefer r2pipe / plugins for deterministic automation; use AI for literacy, not silent patching.
- Save prompts/outputs that mattered as Evidence with timestamps and model IDs.
Allowed framing
- Explaining a function you already sought on a courseware binary.
- Asking for alternative interpretations of a basic block you can see.
- Teaching students to reject AI suggestions that invent APIs or ignore strip state.
- Comparing assist tools across stacks without merging their docs.
Scope we will not cover
- No crack/keygen prompt packs.
- No DRM-bypass or unpack-for-piracy copilots.
- No credential theft or secret-exfil recipes via model APIs.
- No exploit PoC generation framed as "AI homework."
Beginner path (authorized only)
- Complete a non-AI r2 lab on an authorized binary (seek, analyze, print).
- Enable r2ai only under lab policy; record model/provider.
- Ask one narrow question about a function you already named; verify the answer in disassembly.
- Log mismatches — wrong AI answers are teaching artifacts.
- Escalate stubborn cases with human-reviewed r2pipe scripts, not jailbreak prompts.
- Use r2ai as authorized literacy assist, not a cracking co-pilot.
- Prefer the r2ai overview for versions; this page for notes.
- Verify every claim on the bits you may analyze.

FAQ
How is this different from r2ai-overview-authorized?
r2ai overview is the project/version orientation. This page is a lab notes / checklist for authorized assist workflows beside r2pipe/plugins — it does not overwrite the overview.
Do I still need to know radare2?
Yes. LLM assist is not a substitute for aaa literacy, seek flags and r2pipe basics on binaries you may analyze.
Which model/provider should I use?
Follow your lab's approved model policy and r2ai docs for your build. Do not invent cloud credentials or exfiltrate proprietary binaries to unapproved endpoints.
Can r2ai bypass DRM or crack licenses?
No. Topic scope excludes circumvention; BinBench will not document crack/keygen or DRM-bypass prompts.
How does this relate to GhidrAssist?
Different RE stack. See GhidrAssist only when your lab uses Ghidra — do not invent a shared plugin bridge.
